Sketching with Stuart
40 95 A$40.00 - A$95.00
In 1861-62 John McDouall Stuart made the first successful crossing of Australia from south to north and back. He had expressly forbidden the keeping of journals or notes and did not know that one of his Companions was secretly drawing annotated sketches of the Aboriginal people and the landscape between Adelaide and the north coast. These sketches, now all published for the first time with an introduction by Valmai Hankel and a detailed commentary on each one by Rob Linn, give a vivid picture.
