Between 1872 and 1876 Ernest Giles led five expeditions in South Australia, the Northern Territory and Western Australia, and crossed more undiscovered country than any other Australian explorer.
This is the first ever reprint of the four South Australian Parliamentary Papers covering Giles's expeditions into the central and western areas of Australia. Described as a 'fact-finding explorer and impression-recording traveller', Giles is also recognised as 'the most literate of all Australian explorers'.
As with other titles in the Parliamentary Papers series, this is not a facsimile edition: the text has been reset to make it more legible.
